StumbleUpon is Dead
In the early hours of this morning I received this email from StumbleUpon and I will just read a couple of sentences for you. ‘Wow. After 16 years the day has come. Today is the last day that stumbleupon.com exists online and as we head into this moment we want to look back and thank you for making StumbleUpon an internet legend!’ If you want to read that email in its entirety pause this video now and read from your screen.
So, StumbleUpon is dead; StumbleUpon was a discovery engine, below I have included a link to my original StumbleUpon video from 2015. This is my StumbleUpon profile, I had shared some content. For webmasters who review their Google Analytics, StumbleUpon may have been the reason for crazy spikes in traffic. That is how I first heard of the platform. If a StumbleUpon user found a piece of your content and then shared it on the platform many new visitors could have come to your website. StumbleUpon had 40 million active users.
Although StumbleUpon is dead its founder, Garrett Camp has launched a new platform called mix.com. StumbleUpon’s users are being transitioned over to mix.com. I am already there, if you are interested in exploring mix.com, you can follow me there and I will reciprocate.
