<p>I remember a few years ago when Content Marketing was described as the New Marketing. Nowadays there is pretty much universal acceptance in B2B and B2C circles that content creation should be an integral part of any successful marketing plan. To. be specific, according to the <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://contentmarketinginstitute.com/articles/b2b-content-marketing-trends-research/#content-marketing-trends-2024">Content Marketing Institute,</a></span> 73% of B2B marketers and 70% of B2C marketers use content marketing as part of their overall marketing strategy. Regular readers of this blog will not be surprised to learn video content and therefore video production are set to play an ever increasing role in the most effective content that companies create. What I say say next might shock you, audio quality is more important than image quality in video production. Let me explain why.</p>
<h2>Audio Quality vs Image Quality</h2>
<p>Whilst both audio and video quality are crucial elements in video production, there are several reasons why audio is more important than image quality in certain contexts:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Communication and Understanding:</strong> The primary purpose of most videos is to convey a message or tell a story. Clear and high-quality audio is essential for effective communication. Viewers are more likely to forgive lower image quality if they can understand the audio clearly.</li>
<li><strong>Engagement:</strong> Engaging content often relies heavily on audio. Whether it&#8217;s a captivating soundtrack, well-recorded dialogue, or immersive sound effects, audio plays a significant role in keeping viewers interested and emotionally connected to the content.</li>

<li><strong>Realism and Immersion:</strong> In certain genres, such as documentaries, interviews, or narrative storytelling, realistic and immersive audio can enhance the viewer&#8217;s experience by making them feel more connected to the content. This is especially true in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications.</li>
<li><strong>Practical Considerations:</strong> Achieving the highest quality of video production will be very resource-intensive and expensive.  State of the art video production requires advanced cameras, lighting equipment, and post-production editing. On the other hand, capturing good audio often involves more accessible and affordable equipment, making it easier to achieve high-quality results.</li>
<li><strong>Social Media and Mobile Consumption:</strong> With the rise of mobile devices and social media platforms, videos are frequently consumed on-the-go. In these situations, users might prioritise content that has clear and impactful audio, as they may not always be in a position to watch with undivided attention.</li>
</ol>
<p>While the importance of audio versus image quality can depend on the specific goals and context of a video, it&#8217;s essential for video producers to strike a balance between both aspects to deliver a compelling and professional final product. In many cases, the ideal scenario is to have high-quality audio and video, but if a trade-off must be made, audio quality is often prioritised for the reasons mentioned above. <p>If you are a business owner of  a company that is not seeing results from your Content Marketing, there could be a number of reasons for this failure to convert. One possible reason is that your content all looks the same and lacks variety.  It&#8217;s really important that you do not bore your prospects.</p>
<p>First of all, its great that you are creating content on a regular basis. Well done!</p>
<p>This will stand you in good stead in the minds of your target audience and will improve your performance on search engines. If you have also got into the habit of promoting your content on Social Media, this is another positive achievement. Clearly, you are taking steps to reach your content marketing goals. However, if you forget to add variety into your content creation process it will all appear quite similar. In my experience, one of the best ways to keep your audience engaged is to introduce variety into your pieces of content.</p>
<h2>Variety in Your Content Marketing</h2>
<p>If your regular content is usually a written blog post, why not introduce video interviews or podcasts? As an ambassador for your company it should be relatively easy to find relevant podcasts or radio stations that would like to interview you. If  you are not comfortable doing this yourself, nominate someone on your team. Once you or they have appeared on the podcast or radio show your interview will make for an interesting piece of content on your website.  In many cases, it will allow your audience to feel more connected with you and your company because videos and podcasts help bring your brand to life and demonstrate your company&#8217;s values and personality.</p>

<h2>What Other Types of Content Work Well?</h2>
<p>Review the content produced by your competitors or others in similar industries, you&#8217;ll find that everyone has some written content on their website. However, not everyone has podcast interviews, videos of keynote presentations, video testimonials from happy clients, videos of panel discussions or audio clips of appearances of radio shows. Creating varied content like this will raise the profile of you personally and your business. You will be able to differentiate yourself from your competitors; no longer will you be just another law firm or accountancy firm, for example.</p>

<p>Hello everyone. Around 6 months ago I had a decision to make, did I throw myself headlong into <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000JM46FY/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=mrpittster-21&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=6738&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B000JM46FY&amp;linkId=45cc64e95cf66f51458e5f573ba1ef14" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the world of podcasting?</a></span> Or continue with YouTube? I weighed up both options carefully. In the interest of full disclosure I am a Content Creator by profession so executing a successful Content strategy for both these platforms is probably easier for me to achieve than for a regular Professional Services Firm or business owner. What was very clear was that it would be difficult to execute both because of the amount of time needed for each so a decision had to be made.</p>
<h3>When did Podcasting Start?</h3>
<p>It was Ben Hammersley writing for the UK’s Guardian newspaper in September 2004 who originally coined the term ‘podcasting’. A major development came for the podcasting industry in June 2005 when Apple added podcasting to it’s iTunes 4.9 music software and made the subscribing, downloading and organising of podcasts much easier. For a chronological history of podcasting click<span style="color: #ff0000;"> <a style="color: #ff0000;" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_podcasting" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">here.</a></span> Podcasting has grown fairly steadily since those early years and more recent technological advancements such as the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 and Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) technology in cars have accelerated that growth. SPP enables your car to connect to the internet via your phone’s data connection and this feature is being built into an increasing number of new cars each year.</p>
<h3>Why is Podcasting so hot right now?</h3>
<p>The year 2014 was hailed as the Year of the Podcast in some circles despite the fact that the global community of podcast listeners worldwide is still small compared to the total radio listening audience. Business podcasts are hugely popular &#8211; John Lee Dumas’ <em>Entrepreneur on Fire</em> and Pat Flynn’s <em>Smart Passive Income</em> podcasts have demonstrated how a podcast can be successfully monetised.<span style="color: #ff0000;"> <a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/tutorials/start-podcast-pats-complete-step-step-podcasting-tutorial/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Click here to read How to Start a Podcast</a>.</span> For both John and Pat the podcast has become their business. Mainstream broadcasters such as former <em>This American Life</em> producer, Alex Blumberg have moved from National Public Radio to podcasting.</p>
<h3>How many Podcast subscriptions are there globally?</h3>
<p>In 2013 Apple said that subscriptions of podcasts through iTunes had reached 1 billion. The analytics company RawVoice tracks 20,000 shows and in 2013 they announced that the number of unique monthly podcast listeners had tripled to 75 million from 25 million five years ago. Podcasting is seemingly the platform that everyone is talking about and talking on and not just for entertainment purposes. Dumas’ 7 days a week <em>Entrepreneur On Fire</em> podcast is close to reaching the milestone of 1 million downloads per month.</p>
<h3>How will Podcasting benefit your business?</h3>
<p>Even if you don’t intend to be the next John Lee Dumas or Pat Flynn by consistently creating content for your podcast you will create your own platform that will elevate your business or organisation. In most cases, your <span style="color: #000000;">competitors will not be podcasting </span>so if you continue to <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0002PSCQM/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=mrpittster-21&amp;camp=1634&amp;creative=6738&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B0002PSCQM&amp;linkId=6c15d3d543b69c4d2db0e2f8a91a25f0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">produce excellent content</a></span> via your podcast in the form of interviews, special reports, industry insight etc you will have a competitive advantage over your business rivals. If you are a commercial law firm, for example your podcast will result in you being perceived as an industry leader. It is similar to the impact that regular blogging has on your business but podcasting opens you up to an audience who prefer to digest content in audible rather than written form.</p>
<h3>When was YouTube created?</h3>
<p>YouTube began on February 14, 2005 when three former PayPal employees ( Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim) activated the Internet domain name &#8220;YouTube.com&#8221; and started to create a video sharing website on which users could upload, share, and view videos. The creators offered the public a preview of the site in May 2005, six months before YouTube made its official debut. Like many technology startups, YouTube was started as an angel-funded enterprise from a makeshift office in a garage. By July 2006 YouTube was the fifth highest ranked site on Alexa. On November 13th 2006 Google completed the purchase of YouTube for 1.65 Billion. <p>Today YouTube has over a billion users. 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. The number of hours people are watching on YouTube each month is up 50% year on year. On average a staggering 60% of a creator’s views come from outside their home country. Half of YouTube views are on mobile devices. More than a million advertisers are using Google ad platforms; the majority of these advertisers are small businesses.</p>
<h3>How Does YouTube Benefit Your Business?</h3>
<p>Similar to podcasting, YouTube offers business owners the chance to <span style="color: #000000;">create their own platform (channel) to communicate with their leads and prospects. </span>A successful Content strategy for YouTube will result in great rewards providing that Content is of value and new content is uploaded on a consistent basis. When you can afford it, <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://amzn.to/2MDxJhP" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">invest in a good camera.</a></span> The scale of YouTube means that the potential reach of a successful business channel will outstrip that of a podcast in most cases. Remember that business owners do not need to worry about competition from<span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.youtube.com/user/PewDiePie" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> PewDiePie</a></span> or other popular gamers because they operate in different sectors to him. Consider the potential engagement generated from YouTube for your business. <p>After weighing up both platforms my decision was to remain committed to YouTube and you can see that currently we have 89 videos on our YouTube channel and this figure is set to rise. <p>Hello everyone. Growing a robust business is not easy. There are no guarantees or magic formulas but there are actions that you can take that will make your success more likely. How do you get your business into the fast lane? Everyone wants their business to be in the fast lane to success but usually they are not putting the work in to achieve that. Below are 6 ways to get you there.</p>
<h3> 6 ways to grow your business faster</h3>
<p><strong>1. Content</strong><br />
Ensure that you have <a href="http://www.bluehost.com/track/markfund1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">good web hosting from the outset.</a> Be a content creator. Creating original blog content drives traffic to your website and generates leads and customers. <a href="https://www.udemy.com/how-to-turbocharge-your-business-with-a-blog/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Not surely precisely how to do this? Click here </a>. Ensure that content is SEO optimised. This will ensure that you are more &#8216;findable&#8217; by search engines and will increase organic traffic to your site.</p>
<p><strong>2. Webinars &amp; Podcasts</strong><br />
Give your community real chances to connect with you &#8211; using webinars and hosting a podcast are both excellent ways of doing this. One of our favourite quotes is the following from Mark Twain, &#8220;People do business with those they know, like and trust.&#8221;. It is very true &#8211; allow your audience the opportunity to build up trust in you.</p>
<p><strong>3. Build a Great Team</strong><br />
You will not get your business in the fast lane all by yourself. Recognise where you need help and recruit based on character and build the level of expertise in the team. Do not hire clones of yourself with the same skill set.</p>
<p><strong>4. Stage Wonderful Events</strong><br />
We are sure that you have attended one of those routine conferences that completely lacks enthusiasm and energy. You should take the opportunity to stage and appear at events and ensure that your event or your presence at a event gets people talking for the right reasons. This area represents such a great opportunity to make an impact because so many people are currently getting it wrong.</p>
<p><strong>5. Email Strategy</strong><br />
Social Media did not kill off email. It should be working in conjunction with email. For many businesses the fast lane to larger revenues is an effective email strategy. Monthly newsletters will not suffice. Build the relationship with your audience by emailing once a week if appropriate.
