It has even presented itself as a platform where we can use it to buy different products and services. Now, there’s a complete generation of adults who are well aware of the internet and know nothing about how life operated without it. Currently, around 43% of the shoppers use it to look for a product or service that they want. As a result, the revenue of e-commerce websites has exponentially grown to $476 million in the US alone.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p3">In simple words, retailers cannot stay offline, otherwise, they will lose valuable customers easily. Thanks to e-commerce websites because they empower the customers to acquire a unique user experience of shopping online. So if you want to start an e-commerce business, the basic idea will be, begin with, a stellar-looking website. You can either choose to build one yourself or hire a web developer. Here, we will shed light on how you can build a good e-commerce website:</p>

<p>If you are a website owner there is an opportunity for you to earn additional revenue from your website. Most website owners in the B2B space use their websites as reference points for prospective leads and customers. Interested prospects visit their company website and some convert into recurring clients with a monthly retainer. However, there is a chance to earn additional revenue by including sponsored posts on your company blog.</p>
<h2>How Do Sponsored Posts Work?</h2>
<p>When you publish regularly on your company blog you will build up an audience for your content. There will be other companies who would also like to communicate with your audience because it is the same audience that they target. In this scenario, companies will pay you to publish a post on your blog, this is a sponsored post. In this sponsored post they will embed links to their website and / or goods and services. <p>This is a blog post and a video that I did not want to make. I wished it was unnecessary, unfortunately most of us are aware that Social Media has an ugly side to it. I am referring to the prevalence of online abuse,  this abuse tends to be directed at women in the public eye, ethnic minorities or people with disabilities. Fortunately, we have an approach to handling this type of abuse that has proved effective.</p>
<p>I am happy to help anyone who is suffering from online abuse. This is not like most of posts where I list out an action plan because I do not want to alert the abusers to the steps being taken. <p>Social Media has been a part of how we communicate with each other as individuals and as organisations for a long time now. Many people think of the creation of Facebook as the start of the Social Media revolution but <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_social_media" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as this timeline shows there were many social media platforms</a> </span>before Facebook. The Social Media landscape is a fast moving one, change is constant.</p>
<p>In business generally, companies come and go and in Social Media, platforms come and go. Relatively few people are <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://myspace.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">using My Space now ( yes, it still exists)</a></span> or Friends Reunited.  In this context, it is surprising that many companies go to the trouble of giving their staff some Social Media training but then do not keep these skills updated by re-training their staff. As someone who uses Social Media for business on a daily basis, I am aware of many of the changes made to Social Media platforms and I make a conscious attempt to keep myself updated.</p>
<h2>Social Media Training</h2>
<p>The first time your team were trained on Social Media, you probably included all the basic functionality aspects including, how to tweet and how to use the LinkedIn Publishing platform etc. Fortunately, when you re-train your staff or create training updates you do not have to revisit functionality, in most cases basic functionality remains the same. This allows for more focused sessions highlighting changes to a particular platform or a new feature that has potential for your business.</p>
<p>A great example of this is provided by IGTV.  On June 2oth 2018, Instagram<span style="color: #ff0000;"> <a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://instagram-press.com/blog/2018/06/20/welcome-to-igtv/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">launched IGTV,</a> <span style="color: #333333;">this</span> </span>has given all Instagram users the ability to upload long form vertical video content; significantly this content can be uploaded from a desktop as well as your phone. IGTV is similar to the early days of YouTube, but with vertical video rather than horizontal. This is a great opportunity for those businesses and organisations prepared to embrace it. Most businesses that I have spoken to either were not aware of IGTV or do not yet have a strategic response to the opportunity.</p>

<p>The world of online shopping offers so many possibilities to so many people. In this day and age, just about anyone can set up their own e-commerce store online and get selling. However, with the sheer amount of choice that comes with online retail, how do the smaller online businesses get themselves noticed? They’re facing more challenges than ever, but if they overcome them, the reward is bigger than ever.</p>
<h2>e-Commerce Challenges</h2>
<h4>Crowded Market</h4>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39655039" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">More and more people are shopping online </a></span>and as a result, the online market place is more crowded than ever. Even the big retailers are trying harder to get themselves noticed.  Lesser-known online businesses can struggle to get customer attention amongst increasing number of competitors, both big and small. Thankfully there are number of things they can to get their site found by potential customers. They can offer unique products, competitive rates and have a strong social media presence. The latter can potentially be helped with the help of online influencers.</p>
<h4>Social Media</h4>
<p>Moving on from the last point, social media itself is another challenge smaller e-Commerce will face. It is vital for online businesses to have an online presence in order to keep up with the crowd. This can make for some great customer engagement and grow a larger consumer base. However, it does come with its own challenges. Social media is 24/7 so online businesses have to make themselves available all the time to deal with customers, rather than the standard working day.</p>
<h4>Keeping Products Secure</h4>
<p>Once the e-Commerce site has managed to sell their product to a customer, the challenge doesn’t end there. A huge problem they will face is making sure the products remains safe until it gets delivered to the customer. With the help of a professional delivery company – <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.whistl.co.uk/international/parcels/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">such as Whistl</a></span>– they can ensure any products will be handled safely and effectively. It takes the stress away from the business and the e-Commerce can focus on selling rather than sending.</p>
<h4>Keeping Up With Demand</h4>
<p>The best outcome for a small online business is for them to keep growing. Once this begins to happen, it’s fantastic but also presents the business with another challenge: keeping up with the demand. What could have started as selling a few parcels a week could escalate, and they’ve got to keep up to keep the customers happy. By employing more staff or using a third party delivery service a smaller e-Commerce can keep growing and maintaining a profit.</p>

<p>This video will be of interest to business owners, B2B marketing managers and others who use Content Marketing and Social Media to promote their B2B business or organisation.</p>
<h2>The Power of Pinterest</h2>
<p>Pinterest is a visual search engine; towards the end of 2017, my opinion of of Pinterest was that it was an interesting platform but not relevant for B2B businesses. I even created a blog post about platforms that we no longer use and <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.marketingfundamentals.com/whch-social-media-platforms-do-we-no-longer-use/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">I mentioned Pinterest in this context</a></span>.</p>
<p>In early 2018, I made a plan to revisit several platforms that I hadn&#8217;t evaluated for a few years. <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://www.pinterest.co.uk/themikepitt/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pinterest</a></span> fell into this category because I had scaled back my use of the platform in 2015. I am glad that I chose to revisit Pinterest because it is an amazing tool that increased Monthly Uniques to this website by 25% and Page Views by 21%, all within a couple of weeks of being active on the platform again.
