<p>I remember a few years ago when Content Marketing was described as the New Marketing. Nowadays there is pretty much universal acceptance in B2B and B2C circles that content creation should be an integral part of any successful marketing plan. To. be specific, according to the <span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="https://contentmarketinginstitute.com/articles/b2b-content-marketing-trends-research/#content-marketing-trends-2024">Content Marketing Institute,</a></span> 73% of B2B marketers and 70% of B2C marketers use content marketing as part of their overall marketing strategy. Regular readers of this blog will not be surprised to learn video content and therefore video production are set to play an ever increasing role in the most effective content that companies create. What I say say next might shock you, audio quality is more important than image quality in video production. Let me explain why.</p>
<h2>Audio Quality vs Image Quality</h2>
<p>Whilst both audio and video quality are crucial elements in video production, there are several reasons why audio is more important than image quality in certain contexts:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Communication and Understanding:</strong> The primary purpose of most videos is to convey a message or tell a story. Clear and high-quality audio is essential for effective communication. Viewers are more likely to forgive lower image quality if they can understand the audio clearly.</li>
<li><strong>Engagement:</strong> Engaging content often relies heavily on audio. Whether it&#8217;s a captivating soundtrack, well-recorded dialogue, or immersive sound effects, audio plays a significant role in keeping viewers interested and emotionally connected to the content.</li>
<li><strong>Professionalism:</strong> Poor audio quality is often more noticeable and distracting than lower video quality. Viewers are more forgiving of grainy or less sharp visuals, but distorted or unclear audio can be instantly off-putting and give the impression of a lack of professionalism.</li>
<li><strong>Accessibility:</strong> Some viewers may have visual impairments or choose to consume content without actively watching the video. In such cases, clear and descriptive audio becomes essential for conveying information.</li>
<li><strong>Realism and Immersion:</strong> In certain genres, such as documentaries, interviews, or narrative storytelling, realistic and immersive audio can enhance the viewer&#8217;s experience by making them feel more connected to the content. This is especially true in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications.</li>
<li><strong>Practical Considerations:</strong> Achieving the highest quality of video production will be very resource-intensive and expensive.  State of the art video production requires advanced cameras, lighting equipment, and post-production editing. On the other hand, capturing good audio often involves more accessible and affordable equipment, making it easier to achieve high-quality results.</li>
<li><strong>Social Media and Mobile Consumption:</strong> With the rise of mobile devices and social media platforms, videos are frequently consumed on-the-go. In these situations, users might prioritise content that has clear and impactful audio, as they may not always be in a position to watch with undivided attention.</li>
</ol>
<p>While the importance of audio versus image quality can depend on the specific goals and context of a video, it&#8217;s essential for video producers to strike a balance between both aspects to deliver a compelling and professional final product. In many cases, the ideal scenario is to have high-quality audio and video, but if a trade-off must be made, audio quality is often prioritised for the reasons mentioned above. <h2>Twitter Followers or YouTube Subscribers</h2>
<p>As Social Media Managers for B2B businesses, you will be responsible for tracking a number of Social media metrics. <h2>1000 True Fans</h2>
<p>It was Kevin Kelly who first introduced the <a href="https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span style="color: #ff0000;">concept of 1000 True Fans</span></a> in a blog post published in 2008. In this post, he explained that creative professionals do not need huge audiences to be successful. If they had an audience of 1000 True Fans and could sell them $100 dollars worth of products or services per year that would equate to a salary of $100,000. This article led to many discussions within the creative community, some doubted that it was as straightforward to achieve as Kelly implied.</p>
<p>What is now abundantly clear in 2019 is that the 1000 True Fans paradigm works perfectly for online businesses or businesses with an online element when you consider how online courses, membership sites and subscription services are sold to a select groupf of hardcore fans. YouTube is a particularly good platform for attracting True Fans.</p>

<p>If you are a business owner of  a company that is not seeing results from your Content Marketing, there could be a number of reasons for this failure to convert. One possible reason is that your content all looks the same and lacks variety.  It&#8217;s really important that you do not bore your prospects.</p>
<p>First of all, its great that you are creating content on a regular basis. Well done!</p>
<p>This will stand you in good stead in the minds of your target audience and will improve your performance on search engines. If you have also got into the habit of promoting your content on Social Media, this is another positive achievement. Clearly, you are taking steps to reach your content marketing goals. However, if you forget to add variety into your content creation process it will all appear quite similar. In my experience, one of the best ways to keep your audience engaged is to introduce variety into your pieces of content.</p>
<h2>Variety in Your Content Marketing</h2>
<p>If your regular content is usually a written blog post, why not introduce video interviews or podcasts? As an ambassador for your company it should be relatively easy to find relevant podcasts or radio stations that would like to interview you. If  you are not comfortable doing this yourself, nominate someone on your team. Once you or they have appeared on the podcast or radio show your interview will make for an interesting piece of content on your website.  In many cases, it will allow your audience to feel more connected with you and your company because videos and podcasts help bring your brand to life and demonstrate your company&#8217;s values and personality.</p>

<h2>What Other Types of Content Work Well?</h2>
<p>Review the content produced by your competitors or others in similar industries, you&#8217;ll find that everyone has some written content on their website. However, not everyone has podcast interviews, videos of keynote presentations, video testimonials from happy clients, videos of panel discussions or audio clips of appearances of radio shows. Creating varied content like this will raise the profile of you personally and your business. You will be able to differentiate yourself from your competitors; no longer will you be just another law firm or accountancy firm, for example.</p>

Today is the last day that stumbleupon.com exists online and as we head into this moment we want to look back and thank you for making StumbleUpon an internet legend!&#8217; If you want to read that email in its entirety pause this video now and read from your screen.</p>
<p>So, StumbleUpon is dead; StumbleUpon was a discovery engine, below I have included a link to my original  StumbleUpon video from 2015. This is my StumbleUpon profile, I had shared some content. For webmasters who review their Google Analytics, StumbleUpon may have been the reason for crazy spikes in traffic. That is how I first heard of the platform. If a StumbleUpon user found a piece of your content and then shared it on the platform many new visitors could have come to your website. StumbleUpon had 40 million active users.</p>

<p>One question we have been asked many times, by B2B business owners and marketing professionals, is this one, how many web visitors should we have each month? There are lots of variables that contribute to the amount of web traffic a particular website achieves. Variables such as the sector that the company is in and the age of the company will have a significant impact on the potential audience size for any website. Most companies that we work with are B2B companies with less than 50 employees, for companies like this, we have found a benchmark of 1000 visitors per month to be realistic. Newer companies maybe nowhere near this figure yet and well established companies may easily surpass it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important not to focus solely on monthly visitors of course, tracking conversions of visitors into leads and customers is crucial to understand what part your website is playing in the new business development process.</p>
<h2>How to Achieve 1000 Visitors per Month</h2>
<p>How often are you blogging on your site? Are you and your team able to drive traffic to your site using Social Media? When did you last assess the quality of the backlinks pointing to your site? These are all questions that should be considered before a solution can be provided.</p>
